Dear EASTEM project members and friends,

Hope you are doing well. With this newsletter, I would like to alert you to current project activities in EASTEM. You can email miriam.tardell@uadm.uu.se with any updates you wish to share with everyone.

Recent project activities

WP 2: We had our second online seminar in the series on qualitative data on 19 May, focusing on a research approach called phenomenography to analyse students' perceptions of their own learning. Participants split into 5 groups working on the same set of interview script excerpts, all coming up with a unique way of understanding and making sense of the data.

Like and share a post about this event in our EASTEM Facebook page!

WP 3: In WP 3, we have held Zoom meetings with VU and all Asian partners individually to discuss the current status of the STEM centres and the plans ahead. These meetings have had the format of coaching sessions with feedback from the VU team.

Upcoming project activities

Dissemination: The Dissemination Team will meet Tuesday 26 May at 09.00 Swedish time in this room on Zoom. Other project members interested in contributing to dissemination activities of the EASTEM project are more than welcome to join this meeting.

WP 2: The next CUP EASTEM seminar focusing on working with our own interview data will take place Tuesday 2 June at 09.00 Swedish time in this room on Zoom. If you did not receive a calendar invitation and would like one, please email Jake Reardon (jake.reardon@uadm.uu.se).

The Thai partners in EASTEM (CMU, PSU and MUSC) plan to run online ToT course modules together as a national ToT course for lecturers in Thailand starting 23 June. More information will be shared soon.

Upcoming project meetings

15-17 June: Virtual consortium meeting, Zoom
12-15 Oct: WP 4 meeting, Brest
30 Nov-2 Nov: Dissemination/General Meeting, Yogyakarta
And last but not least, I would like to take this opportunity to wish happy holidays to all partners celebrating Eid al-Fitr or Ascension Day this week.

Stay tuned for more information and keep up the great work everyone!
