Hope you are doing well. With this newsletter, I would like to alert you to current project activities in EASTEM. You can email miriam.tardell@uadm.uu.se with any updates you wish to share with everyone.

Recent project activities 

WP 2: On 4 May, 20 project members from the WP 2 teams of UU, CMU, ITB, PSU, IT DEL, MUSC, HUS, UTEHY and VU as well as our external evaluator met for the first online seminar in the series on Collecting, Understanding and Publishing EASTEM Data in WP 2 (CUP EASTEM). Anders Berglund and Mats Daniels from UU introduced methodologies for qualitative research and the group discussed how to apply these to assess the ToT courses.

WP 3: WP leader VU has developed guidelines for the STEM centre platform to be discussed soon with the WP 3 group (see upcoming activities below). 

WP 4: Based on EASTEM partners' answers to a questionnaire, WP 4 has developed a reference model for university-industry business collaboration (UBIC) with eight themes:

1. Industrial and Business partners implication in STEM programme design, review & revision
2. Industrial and Business partners participation into STEM programme teaching & learning activities
3. Professional work activities integrated in STEM curricula
4. Graduate Employment & Employability analysis at STEM Schools
5. Students Preparation for Employment & Careers in STEM education
6. Financial aspects with Industry
7. Innovation and R&D with Industry
8. Workspaces with Industry

Upcoming project activities

WP 2: The next CUP EASTEM seminar with a focus on practical work on data will take place Tuesday, 19 May, 9.00-10.30 Swedish time in this room on Zoom. If you did not receive a calendar invitation and would like one, please email Jake Reardon (jake.reardon@uadm.uu.se).

WP 3: WP leader VU will  organize Zoom meetings with WP 3 contact persons during 12-15 May to discuss the current situation of STEM centre establishment and the STEM centre platform.

WP 4: WP leader IMTA will interview partners from Indonesia and Vietnam by video meetings in the coming months to discuss insights, experiences and good practices on each of the UBIC themes (interviews with Thai partners were conducted in February).
